Director
BA (Hons), RYT 500, CF-L1, FST L2
Since 2010 I’ve dedicated myself to the art of yoga teaching and have honed my skills as a personal trainer since 2015. My journey began at Yogaspace, where I immersed myself in learning, completing both my 200-hour and 300-hour advanced teacher training under the esteemed guidance of Kathryn Beet. During my tenure, I not only taught on a regular drop-in schedule but also conducted transformative teacher trainings, orchestrated workshops, ran the personal training program and worked as a fascial stretch therapist.
My passion led me to delve into various roles, including fascial stretch therapist, mobility specialist, and physio/chiro assistant in a clinical setting for over half a decade. Weekly rounds with fellow practitioners expanded my knowledge of injury rehabilitation, enriching my approach to holistic wellness.
Continuing my education, I delved deep into Pilates, Osteopathy, yoga philosophy, pre and postnatal yoga, anatomy, yoga sequencing, restorative yoga, and therapeutic yoga during my advanced teacher training. I also have my CrossFit Level 1 training, which further informs my approach to movement and strength. Additionally, I completed an immersive one year program at the Gestalt Institute, equipping me with skills in communication, psychotherapy, mental health, and the transformative Gestalt method.
Driven by an unwavering passion for sharing my expertise, I’m committed to the holistic well-being of each individual I work with. My personal practice consists of Ashtanga yoga, Pilates, gymnastics, and CrossFit, with Olympic weightlifting as my main sport. My journey includes three years of training and competition under coach Alex Varbanov, and I currently train and compete with coach Justin Santos.
I am the Director of our multidisciplinary physiotherapy clinic. I hold an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and bring many years of administrative experience in both clinical and yoga studio settings. This clinic is the realization of a long-held dream, an accumulation of everything I’ve learned over the years across these fields, brought to life in a space dedicated to compassionate, collaborative, and comprehensive care.
Together with my partner Cesar, we are proud owners of Brockton Physiotherapy, a culmination of our collective years of experience in the health and wellness realm. Our mission is to enrich the lives of everyone in our community through personalized care and transformative practices. When I’m not pushing my limits in the gym, you’ll find me immersed in play and baking adventures with my delightful child, Carmelo.

Hi, I’m Karina, and I’m a psychotherapist at Brockton Physio.
Physio has been a big part of my own story. It’s helped me recover from injuries, manage a chronic illness, and support a fitness journey that’s included yoga, weightlifting, and running. Through those experiences, I saw firsthand how closely the body and mind are connected, and how powerful it can be to support both in tandem.
That’s why I’m so excited to offer psychotherapy at Brockton Physio. Whether you're dealing with chronic pain, healing from an injury, navigating anxiety or burnout, or working toward personal goals in your athletic or wellness journey, I’m here to help you make sense of what you’re going through and move forward in a way that feels supported.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, down-to-earth, and tailored to you. I work with individuals, couples, and groups, and I bring a mix of evidence-based tools, body-aware strategies, and honest conversation to our sessions. Therapy can be a space to slow down and get practical support as you build the life you want, both inside and out.
Curious if therapy might be a fit? I offer free 20-minute consultations so we can connect, talk through your needs, and see if this feels like the right fit.

Brittany Almeida
Assistant Director
(She/Her)
Hello! I'm Brittany - Assistant Director at Brockton Physiotherapy and one of the first faces you'll see when you walk through our door.
With nearly four years of experience in healthcare administration, three of those in multidisciplinary rehab clinics, I’m passionate about creating well-organized, efficient systems that help our team deliver the best possible care.
I hold a degree in Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University and recently completed a post-graduate certificate in Addictions and Mental Health. My background has deepened my appreciation for the connection between physical and mental health, and I bring that perspective into the work I do every day to help create a more holistic and compassionate experience for our clients.
As Assistant Director, I support clinic operations, help lead our front desk team, and step into leadership responsibilities when needed. I’m committed to maintaining a welcoming, supportive space where both clients and staff feel valued and cared for.
Outside of the clinic, you’ll usually find me Olympic weightlifting, at a CrossFit or Pilates class, or exploring the city in search of the best cookies (recommendations always welcome!).

Sophie Makrigiannis
Receptionist
(She/Her)
Hey, I’m Sophie — one of the newer faces at the clinic! I’m currently studying Photography at Toronto Metropolitan University, where I’ve developed a love for capturing candid moments and, more recently, food photography. When I’m not behind the camera or hitting the books, I’m supporting the amazing team here at Brockton in any way I can. Outside the clinic, you’ll probably find me bouldering or lifting at one of the downtown gyms (chalk-covered hands and all). I’m all about community, and I’m here to make your visit just a little bit brighter.
